21-goal striker completes loan move – & he’ll now face Sunderland in a few weeks time

Newcastle striker Elias Sorensen has completed a loan move to Blackpool until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old striker has scored a stunning 21 times in all competitions this season, scoring 19 for our U-23’s – making him the top scorer in the Premier League 2 – and twice in two starts for Denmark’s U-21’s over the past week.

Blackpool are currently 8th in League One, giving him a chance to hopefully play week in week out in the third tier of English football – something that promises to be a great learning curve for the youngster after a season at youth level.

Interestingly, Blackpool are due to meet Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in just a few weeks time, so the Danish striker will be hoping to continue his good record against the Black Cats – with him scoring in two of the three games he’s played against them this season.

Good luck to the lad. A spell with Blackpool was a brilliant experience for Sean Longstaff this time last year, so let’s hope Sorensen can also come back an even better player with some vital minutes at senior level under his belt.
