Sky Sports’ north-east reporter Keith Downie claims Joselu has just told him he ‘reckons he’s staying at Newcastle’ – despite speculation linking him with a deadline day move away.
This may come as bad news for several of us NUFC fans – especially when his exit could’ve seen a new striker arrive in his place – however I won’t lose too much sleep given we’ve just smashed our 14-year-old club record fee to sign Almiron!
Here’s what Keith Downie has had to say after speaking to the Spaniard at the club’s training ground at lunch time:
The Chronicle confirmed that there’d been interest from unnamed European clubs and China, but it seems he may not be staying.
It could well be due to the fact we are unable to secure a replacement, although it would not surprise me if there was simply a lack of firm interest in the striker.
His situation could be similar to Hayden’s and Murphy’s, however, with all three only likely to leave if a replacement arrives – and time is running out!
