Two deals now ‘in doubt’ – Two ‘done’ & Salomon Rondon talks now confirmed

It’s deadline day, a day that us Newcastle fans normally describe as ‘Thursday’ or ‘January 31st’, however it seems we are FULL of busy this year!

Here’s the latest regarding deals, with Almiron and Barreca now described as ‘done’ by Sky, deals for Limbombe and Samaris said to be ‘in doubt’ and talks now underway with West Brom for us to sign Rondon BEYOND this season:

Miguel Almiron – £21m fee agreed, medical has gone smoothly according to several reports and the player is now at the club’s training ground completing all the final details. Looks imminent.

Antonioa Barreca – Another player spotted at the training ground this morning and another that looks imminent, if not done already. Loan deal with option to buy from Monaco – with reports from Italy claiming he’s just ‘signed his contract’ in the last few moments.

Anthony Limbombe – Claims from France suggesting he ‘should sign’ today appear to be premature. It seems he is a target, but the latest reports are that the deal is in doubt. Jacob Murphy could yet stay if we don’t sign a winger to replace him.

Andreas Samaris – Conflicting reports on this one today, but the Telegraph are claiming it may have collapsed and Sky suggest it’s ‘stalling’ with Benfica now keen to keep him and NUFC prioritising other deals. His arrival seems essential if Hayden is to move on before 11pm today, but both seem unlikely as things stand.

Salomon Rondon – North-east reporter Luke Edwards has confirmed that we’re in talks with West Brom over a deal to keep him at the club BEYOND the end of this season. £15m quoted for a permanent deal, however another loan deal being discussed according to the Telegraph, with us allowing Murphy to join the Baggies on loan as a result.

  1. Ritchie going no where, he’s Rafa type of player, far better than atsu and Kennedy, and exactly what we need to keep up the fight
