Gary Lineker has described Sean Longstaff’s display against Wolves as a ‘impressively mature performance’ – believing he is another English talent making ‘huge strides’ in the Premier League.
This was seconded by fellow Match of the Day man Alan Shearer, who stated that the 21-year-old was ‘very, very good’ – although ‘big Al’ did feel Martin Dubrvka ‘should’ve been stronger’ to stop Wolves’ sickening late equaliser, with Boly heading home after the Slovakian failed to gather a looping cross into the box just seconds from time.
Back to Longstaff and it’s great to see him receiving some hugely deserved praise after yet another classy display – especially from two of England’s greatest goal scorers:
Not only did Longstaff look so calm, confident and assured on the ball, he showed just how impressive he is out of possession too – with him covering more ground than any other player on the pitch last night.
With regards to Dubravka, that’s two costly errors in his last two games, but I still have so much faith in him. Irrespective of how much of a bargain he’s looked, he’s barely put a foot wrong over the past year and has looked a class act 9 times out of 10, so I won’t be losing faith in him anytime soon.
