Alan Shearer has shutdown a Man Utd fan in amusing fashion on Twitter, telling the Red Devils to ‘get over’ the fact he turned them down 23 years ago.
After mocking their 4-0 hammering at Everton on Sunday, Manchester United fan and writer Scott Patterson responded to Shearer with: “Ole wins us the European Cup as a player and gives us a chance of finishing in the top 4 as manager, and then this guy pipes up. You know, the one who won f**k all at Newcastle as a player and then got them relegated as a manager. Have some shame”.
Paterson then attempted to wind-up the former Newcastle number 9 with the ‘Cheer up Alan Shearer’ song – but Big Al was having none of it.
Here’s how he responded on Twitter, telling him and all Man Utd fans to ‘get over it’ 23 years after he rejected a move to Old Trafford:
Scott can laugh it off all he likes, but nothing changes the fact Shearer went on to become the Premier League’s all time leading score – all while living his childhood dream at his local club.
