Salomon Rondon has continued his impressive goalscoring form in a Sunday night friendly, with the Venezuelan bagging two goals and an assist in a stunning first half performance against the USA.
Here’s his two goals against a leaky USA defence (which did NOT feature an injured DeAndre Yedlin!), followed by his assist via a brilliant flicked header:
Not only did he look fit, strong and in impressive form on the back of his 12 goal, 7 assist season at St James’ Park, his two goals have seen him become Venezuela’s all time top scorer on 24 goals – ahead of Juan Arango (23 goals).
Unfortunately for us, his goals will only help him attract more interest – especially with a £16.5m release clause – but this should be another clear message to the club. We’d be crazy not to sign him up, especially when he’s so keen join permanently.
The game ended 3-0 to Venezuela, with Rondon’s side looking in impressive form ahead of this month’s Copa America.
