Rafa Benitez has been spotted returning to the club’s training ground earlier today for the first time since the season ended last month.
With a contract offer on the table and the Spaniard yet to sign, this is an intriguing development – but it remains to be seen if his return to Tyneside is anything significant.
As captured by the Sky Sports cameras, here’s footage of him returning to the club’s Benton training base today:
As you’d expect, this has left fans wondering just what’s going on, with many on social media being curious to say the least.
Some have pointed out he’s wearing the same jacket he wore when he signed at St Jame’s a few years ago (you have to laugh!), while others are sat wondering if he’s returned to Tyneside to collect his things! If either of these fan theories are to be true, let’s hope it’s the former and not the latter!
All jokes aside, let’s hope his return to the scene suggests something positive is in the offing with regards to his future.
We’re now approaching mid-June and still have no idea whether he’ll sign a new deal and be in charge of the club ahead of the new 2019/20, so the situation must be sorted soon.
Hopefully Rafa is not back to clear his belongings out and if he is they will be out in the street around the ground telling Ashley to pack and leave in fact the supporters will pack for him. The club is just one big joke to Ashley always has been. ??

Hang on a minute…… Rafa turns up at Newcastle Utd’s training ground…..so what? He actually works there does he not? It is hardly newsworthy that a man turns up at work!
