“I’m happy” – NUFC star speaks out after claims Serie A giants could make summer move

Martin Dubravka has insisted that he’s ‘happy’ at Newcastle United, suggesting he has no plans to leave the club this summer despite alleged interest from Juventus.

The Slovakian has been absolutely superb over the past 18 months.

He hit the ground running in 2018 and hss just kept 11 clean sheets in his first full season in the Premier League, something which has seen him gain several suitors – and it’s been reported for some time now that Juve are one of them.

That said, the 30-year-old has insisted in a new interview that he couldn’t be happier with life on Tyneside.

Here’s what he’s had to say during his chat with the Northern Echo:

“I’m happy. I’ve had one-and-a-half years here. When I came here, I was a new player (to the Premier League), and now I’ve played the whole season.

“At first, I did not expect that I would be in goal every game. I was waiting for my chance, which came against Manchester United after one week.

” It was a great debut, and since then, I feel that the time has flown.”

“I want to be in the goal for every game. Obviously, I’m very glad I could play every game. I appreciate it.

“I was coming to England as an unknown player. I’m glad that I can be part of a fantastic squad and fantastic dressing room.”

At a time where so much is up in the air, it’s great to see one of our key players sound settled at the club.

Rafa Benitez’s future may be up in the air and Ayoze Perez may be attracting interest from Valencia, but it looks like Dubravka will be sticking around this summer, with the former Sparta Prague man still living the dream after a surprise move from the Czech League last year.
