According to Spanish outlet Libertad Digital, Atletico Madrid are the latest club to show interest in Ayoze Perez.
The story does state that they are yet to make any contact over a potential deal, but claim Ayoze is a player they’ve definitely been watching closely.
The 25-year-old has made it quite clear recently that a move back to his homeland would appeal this summer, and it seems Atletico may be the latest club keeping an eye on him.
He was linked with the likes of Real Betis, Villarreal and Real Sociedad last summer, while Cope Radio claimed on Monday that Valencia had initiated ‘talks’ with his agent.
That said, it doesn’t seem like the club will be discussing any major incoming OR outgoings while uncertainty remains surrounding both a takeover and Rafa Benitez’s future.
It’s been reported that Perez could be tempted to stay should we keep Rafa at the club and begin to show some serious ambition, however I can see him being extremely tempted to return home if ‘top 4’ sides like Atletico Madrid and Valencia did up their interest.
A good replacement for Griezman.
