Club ‘extremely interested’ in Salomon Rondon – & they want deal done ‘quickly’ – Report

According to French outlet La Provence, Andre Villas-Boas is ‘extremely interested’ in bringing Salomon Rondon to Marseille – and wants a deal done ‘quickly’.

Villas-Boas previously worked with the 29-year-old striker at Zenit and it now looks like he’s keen to be reunited with the Venezuelan following his appointment at Marseille.

One issue could be the fact the former Chelsea boss wants a deal to be tied up ‘quickly’. This could be a pronlem given Rondon is currently away at the Copa America, however La Provence claim Marseille could make their move in the coming days in a bid to beat off any competition.

I still believe that he’d opt to be reunited with Rafa and return to Newcastle if we made a move for him, however Marseille may tempt him given he’s worked with Andre Villas-Boas in the past.

That said, I doubt he’s keen to play in Ligue 1 if he still has Premier League offers, especially when Marseille won’t be playing in Europe ahead of the 2019/20 season.
