Fulham receive new Aleksandar Mitrovic offer – & NUFC could earn ‘knock on’ fee – Report

According to reports in Spain, Fulham have received a ‘£20m + bonuses’ offfer from Real Betis for ex-Mag Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Interestingly, the Shields Gazette have also state that Newcastle could receive a ‘knock on’ fee from any sale, suggesting we inserted some sort of sell on clause when he was sold to Fulham last summer.

It’s claimed by Estadio Deportivo that Fulham have immediately rejected the offer, however MARCA have reported that the La Liga side remain in talks with the Serbian, with a potential new €25m bid touted.

Mitrovic was Fulham’s top scorer last season, however his 11 goals were not enough to keep the Cottagers from escaping the drop.

As a result, it looks like the 24-year-old has no plans to remain with the club ahead of their 2019/20 campaign in the Championship, with the likes of West Ham, Palace, Bayern Leverkusen, Brighton and Real Betis all being linked with summer bids.

  1. How can there be a knock on fee if the offers are less than Fulham paid for him? Lazy journalism!

That’s irrelevant? Sell on clauses don’t work like that.

Also, it’s not saying he’s going for £20m, as it seems like Fulham are going to reject that initial offer, so it’s likely any bid they accept will be more than what they paid anyway.
