Leicester agree Ayoze Perez fee – but there’s still TWO stages left to complete – Reports

According to both Sky Sports and the Chronicle, Leicester have indeed agreed a £30m fee for Ayoze Perez.

Both sources state that he’s still to agree personal terms and pass a medical, but I can’t help but feel both stages won’t be a problem.

The Chronicle state that Newcastle found the offer “too good to refuse” and claim that the club will put any fee received ‘back into the transfer kitty for the next manager’, although we’ve heard that before.

I feel Perez was likely to leave even if Rafa stayed and a fee of £30m seems a decent price, but the fact we’ve lost our world class manager and top scorer in a week without one shred of positive news on the manager/takeover/transfer front just sums up how we work under Ashley.

What a mess we are in. Rafa leaving was devastating and inexcusable, but it feels like it’ll now get worse before it gets better, with us now facing the prospect of being without or TWO top scorers last season.

We’re manager-less and without an attacking duo that scored 25 goals across 2018/19. Without them we would’ve been left with 21 points.

One final worry – Are new owners really about to arrive at a club that’s just about lost two of its biggest assets in Benitez and Perez? I have my doubts.
