NUFC star in ‘advanced talks’ to join Leicester City after meeting club officials today – Geoff Peters

According to talkSPORT presenter Geoff Peters, Leicester City are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Ayoze Perez.

Peters claims that the Spaniard may even have a medical at the King Power Stadium ‘this week’, suggesting the 25-year-old is closing in on becoming Brendan Rodgers first summer signing at Leicester.

The broadcaster also suggests that a fee has been agreed, with Perez believed to have been in Leicester today alongside his agent to meet club officials:

And so it begins..

We know Perez has talked a lot about a potential move away in recent months, with his exit seeming increasingly likely following Rafa’s exit, however it had looked like Valencia were in poll position to sign him.

He’s sounded like a man keen to return home and play with a top 6 side in La Liga, but, unfortunately, a move to Leicester would be seen as an upgrade on Newcastle United right now.

Are they a ‘bigger club’? No. But they’ve got a good manager, they spend money, they have a talented squad and are challenging the top 7.

What a disastrous summer this has been so far..

  1. As a lcfc fan I have to agree nufc are a bigger club with arguably a bigger fan base, but the championship is full of big clubs, Leeds, derby to name a few, size of a club does not guarantee anything, without investment and planning from the owners, so Newcastle u are doomed with that owner

  2. Correct its the beginning of the end

Watch how quickly other clubs come sniffing for our players

  3. That’s a bit of a switch – telling everyone he’s leaving Newcastle to go home and play in La Liga then going to Leicester. Can only assume he doesn’t read too well and got confused.
