Ayoze Perez sends emotional video message to NUFC fans after sealing £30m Leicester move

Ayoze Perez has sent an emotional message to his ‘Newcastle family’ after completing a £30m move to Leicester City today, thanking the club, the city and the supporters.

He admits he ‘arrived as a boy’ but now ‘leaves as a man’ and insists he will carry on being a Geordie for the rest of his life, thanking the club and the supporters for making his Premier League dream come true.

Here’s his message to Newcastle United and the Toon Army:

Whether you rated him or not, you can not deny the fact he will be missed. He’s got into double figures in all of the last THREE seasons and has been our top scorer over the past two seasons.

I do believe he needs to be much more consistent, with his form over the first half of last season compared to our run-in highlighting this perfectly, however I’d back him to improve at Leicester in an attacking side filled with quality and creativity.

In all honesty, I always felt like he was leaving his summer. Even if Rafa stayed I believed he was moving on, so the real issue now is the fear that Mike Ashley will replace him on the cheap – something we’ve seen happen on countless occasions now.

He frustrated at times, but his recent record speaks for itself, with almost 50 goals and 20 assists in 200 games being some record for a player signed for £1.7m.

Adios, Ayoze!
