Wolves ‘consider’ £15m bid for NUFC star – Watford, West Ham & Brighton keen – Report

According to the Northern Echo, Wolves have been considering a move for £15m-rated Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden.

Paul Fraser’s piece for the Echo states that both West Ham and Brighton are the two favourites for his signature as things stand, but also claims that Watford have also shown interest in the 24-year-old.

Championship interest is also mentioned, however I full expect him to join a top flight side based on his superb showings in 2019.

It’s been stressed in the past that Hayden would only leave once a replacement is signed, however you can’t help but feel the club’s stance may have changed on that front now Rafa Benitez has gone.

After all, we’ve now seen Rondon, Kenedy and Barreca return to their parent clubs, released Diame and sold Perez, yet not one signing has arrived this summer.

If a big bid arrives or an offer matching our alleged £15m asking price then I can’t see the club standing in Hayden’s way.

Of all the players at risk of leaving this summer, a part of me feels he deserves his move away, with him sticking it out last season and battling as much as any player in black and white despite struggling behind the scenes with long-term personal problems.

  1. Every single person who renews their season ticket, buys a ‘shirt’, and/or makes any purchase from NUFC, including food or drink from St James Park, are in support of Mike Ashley, not NUFC.
If this is you, you don’t have the right to complain anymore, as you are the very people that enable Ashley to run our club in the present manner.
It is time to stand up and be counted. Who do you support.
