Conflicting takeover claims emerge – BZG & Mike Ashley camps saying two different things?

According to the Chronicle, Mike Ashley has received NO bid from the Bin Zayed Group as of yet – claims Sheikh Khaled’s party are describing as “simply not true”.

This is quite unbelievable given the initial takeover claims emerged almost SIX weeks ago now, with several outlets claiming agreements were in place and a matter of time until a sale was finalised at the time.

That said, if a head of terms has been signed and proof of funds have been shown, maybe the official bid is the final stage of the process. After all, if I know the fixed price of a house, I only lodge my ‘bid’ and pay the money once all the prior formalities are in place.

Nevertheless, it’s worrying to hear Mike Ashley’s camp saying one thing and the Bin Zayed Group another.

UAE presenter Peter Redding has been in touch with the group following the ‘no bid’ reports this morning and claims they’re insisted this is “simply not true”:

It’s time we heard what’s really going on.

We can not be left in the dark about such a huge issue any longer – especially when we are manager-less, six weeks away from the new season and without a single signing this summer.

  1. I’m sure they have made a bid but it makes no difference just another ashlie con to sell season tickets he has no intention of selling just using people for his own gains hope next time he’s over there they chop his thieving hands off

The process is, the two parties get together and agree a price in principle and set it out in the agreements. This is subject to the buyer doing due diligence, after which they will revisit the price based on what they find. After that a bid will be tabled. At the same time that all this is going on, proof of funds will be requested and the owners and directors test will be lodged with the Premier League.

I just don’t understand why Ashley would say there is no bid on the table if BZG say there is, unless the two sides have different ideas of what a “bid on the table” is. I’m worried that Ashley is just playing his usual games and it’s still not beyond him to pull the plug. Does he really want to sell? If he appoints a manager on a long term deal I suspect an announcement that the deal is off will follow.

I’m waiting for the next BZG announcement with interest.

  10. I don’t know why we do this to ourselves we live on the edge of everything nufc ! Imagine it’s a cliff edge we have one foot on and the other off waiting for news except in reality I think as a nufc supporter I think myself have fallen off that cliff a long time ago! It was inevitable what has happened to our club I mean he came in and bought the club without doing his homework on it ! People passed him off as the billionaire playboy! But in reality it’s just arrogance and ignorance! He only ever wanted nufc as a advertising vehicle for ***** direct ! As we all know now that’s how he operates buys failing businesses cheap and stamps his mark all over them ( house of Fraser with sports direct tat in ! ) so when he fell out with us he became all vindictive about nufc as history shows I his world none of his business ventures prosper they just exist! With minimal effort from him and as for boycotts you really have to do your homework as he own about 70 % of your local high street now ! But as for selling never ! It’s worth more to him keeping it and starving it and abusing it because he knows the moneys are steady in and forever there ! Until we rise up against him stop buying shirts ! Don’t go to matches ! No season tickets ! Imagine sky or by or all the other brands televising an empty stadium ! I’m pretty sure the fa and the premier league plus by & sky would then be heard !

Neither the fat leech nor the BZG group have said anything 🙄

  13. If you ask me, Ashley has only put the club up for sale so he can deflect any attempts to buy it and stake claim there was no ‘credible offers’ or anyone that he thought can take the club forward. He has absolutely no intention of selling, never has. History has shown this. Why would he want to sell an asset like newcastle, when he needs a few million quid to fund his retail stores, he can just sell a player. For example, I suspect the sale of mitrovic partly funded his acquisition of house of fraser. He’s going nowhere. If he does surprise us all and leaves, I expect he’ll try to make a few more million through player sales first. There should be a rule set by the FA or UEFA that requires a certain amount of investment from clubs owners based on NET turnover to allow for the development of the club, the academy supporting grassroots and local talent. There should be an unconditional % of turnover generated by the club to allow the manager to invest in players, not so much that would cause potential risk of insolvency to a club or breach FFP. But if a club is profitable there should be something to stop greedy owners like ashley rinsing a club dry, disrespecting the fans who have been here long before him and taking away all enjoyment from watching your club play. As far as I’m concerned, Ashley is not welcome in our city. I’m surprised he left in one piece last time.

  14. I agree with everything said above, we have all been conned just as we were with pcp, when they showed intrest, that was purely to distract our attention from the transfer window, and in the end as newcastle always seem to do,they scramble in the final weeks, and miss out,(oops!) we did try, like hell they did, great clubs are on the ball early,we are just a firewall for ashleys cash, if the rumours are correct we are about to sell sean longstaff to man utd for 50 million, thats 80k this week and watford eyeing up a move for hayden,if you add this to the 60 rafa was going to get, we should have over 150k to spend, what does ashley do offer 20k for a striker with a 35k price, tag, he,s a wheeler & dealer,& believe me he will ruin NEWCASTLE UTD takeover more like fakeover
