Sky Sports – Club set to make move for NUFC outcast – No ‘official offer’ made yet

Blackburn Rovers are keen to complete a deal to sign Newcastle United stopper Karl Darlow, according to Sky Sports News.

The story states that no official offer has been submitted as of yet, but it looks like those at Ewood Park have set their sights on Darlow, with current goalkeeper David Raya close joining Brentford.

Here’s a snippet from Sky Sports’ latest piece:

Karl Darlow has attracted interest from Blackburn, Sky sources understand.

The Newcastle goalkeeper is being targeted as a replacement for David Raya, who is closing in on a move to Brentford.

An official offer is yet to be made by Blackburn, who want to bring in an experienced goalkeeper.

In all honesty, I feel Darlow is better than this. Blackburn may be able to given him regular first-team football, but I always saw him joining a promotion chasing Championship side or struggling top flight club this summer.

Either way, he does need a move away from St James’ Park this summer, with him making just ONE appearance last season after struggling to get anywhere close to current no.1 Martin Dubravka.
