Striker spotted at Newcastle airport ahead of ‘imminent’ transfer – See picture here

While the squad take part in pre-season training at Benton, Joselu has been spotted at Newcastle airport this morning – a sign he’s heading to Spain to complete a move to Alaves?

Considering his £1.7m move to the La Liga side has been described as ‘imminent’ over the last few weeks, it’s fair to assume this is him jetting off to join his new club.

It’s also worth noting that Spanish outlet ‘AS’ stated last week that he’d arrive in Alaves to complete a move “over the coming days” – another story which suggests his appearance at the airport is no coincidence.

Here’s a picture of him at Newcastle airport at 11am this morning:

His exit would mean the only out and out senior striker left at the club would be Dwight Gayle, meaning we’re woefully short on numbers, however it’s fair to say his exit won’t come as a concern.

He’s not the best of footballers and had no place at Premier League level, however he always gave it his all and seemed a very decent bloke.

If this is him waving goodbye to Tyneside and boarding a flight back to Spain, we’d like to wish him all the best!

  1. Its that long since he got a game I couldn’t tell you if that’s him or not.

Nice try at scare mongering there Olly.

We’re in trouble because we’re losing joselu?

Scaremongering would be saying ‘NUFC star’ – ‘striker’ means it’s either Gayle or Joselu – and it’s been obvious over the last few weeks that the latter is leaving.

Also, I make it quite clear in the article that losing Joselu would be no real loss – even though Gayle is our only striker left if he goes.

He is waiting at the arrival part probably waiting for a family member

The picture looks like it was taken at the Greggs counter looking across at the checkin desks in that part of the airport. Yes, next to the International Arrivals, but also straight upstairs to Departures once you checkin bags.

  4. No-one can say we’re losing a good striker but whenever I saw him, he left it all out on the park
    Good luck lad.
