Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves insists that ‘sources in Dubai’ are ‘adamant’ a Bin Zayed Group takeover is happening, but admits those outside the UAE remain extremely cautious of such claims.
He also states that local journalists are reluctant to report on a matter they are not ‘100% sure’ on, with many fearful of getting their fingers burned once again – something that’s happened on several occasions after numerous proposed takeovers have shown promise but ended in disappointment.
Here’s what Pete has had to say when responding to frustrated Newcastle fans demanding answers on Twitter this morning:
The most infuriating thing about this whole ordeal is the lack of communication or clarity on the matter.
The BZG have seemed confident from day one, but with time dragging on and their latest ‘statement’ providing few answers and raising more questions, we’re left guessing once again – all while our club refuse to comment, refuse to sign and move at a snails pace when it comes to appointing Rafa’s replacement.
One thing I’m hoping is that Ashley’s reluctance to bring in a new boss or spend in the summer market is because a takeover really is in the offing, however it would not be out of the ordinary for him to do all these things if he was staying.
Something’s got to give sooner rather than later, though. Any takeover must happen in the next week if new owners want to give themselves time to sign before August’s transfer deadline, and, on the flip side, Ashley and co. must surely realise that a new manager/new signings must arrive soon if we’re to enter the new Premier League season with any hope of competing.
This can not drag on any longer. A takeover feels essential, but this team won’t survive the coming season if it continues to be neglected over the next month.
More bollocks boycott boycott boycott boycott enough is enough action now not words

Nothing absolutely nothing in this saga makes any sense. If no takeover happening, why the delay in appointing a manager? If a takeover were to be happening, why delay? This is beyond fishy.

“Can’t blame press for not reporting if not 100% sure.”
Yes – understandable, because the press have never reported anything that’s not 100% true!
Apart from linking us with Mourinho, Moyes, Arteta, Viera, Gerrard, Wenger, Terry, Wilson, Trump, Keegan, The Nolan Sisters, Scooby Doo, Boris Johnson………..

Guardian now reporting us linked with John Terry as new manager. I’m sure they’re 100% correct.

Ha Ha, my exact thoughts. Told by Olly that they only put out what others produce. No mention of fact finding themselves.
Everybody named in the media as the next Newcastle manager is on Oddschecker and will have been traded at some point on betfair. Seems like they’ 😡 re not interested in our next manger.

There’s no takeover it’s all a smokescreen to delay the appointment of a new manager until the first week in August, the window closes on the 8th, leaving no time to get new signings over the line. Same old Ashley.
