Mike Ashley REJECTED by ex-NUFC boss as shock offer is revealed – It all makes sense now..

According to the Daily Mail, Sam Allardyce has REJECTED an offer from Mike Ashley to make a shock return to St James’ Park.

The piece claims that Big Sam was in talks with the club last week, but had issues with the recruitment policy put forward, with also fearing he’d have ‘little if any say over signings’.

Matt Lawton’s piece also reveals that Allardyce would have brought in former NUFC midfielder Kevin Nolan as his assistant should he have took the job – something that explains the ex-Mag’s unforgivable interview on talkSPORT last week which saw him defend Mike Ashley!

It all makes sense now, but the fact even an out of work Big Sam is now turning us down says everything you need to know about the mess we’re in – made even worse by the fact the Mail say we’ve now turned out full attentions to Steve Bruce as a result.

Unfortunately, it really does look like a Steve Bruce-style appointment is about as good as it’s going to get for now, with these ‘young, dynamic’ managers like Arteta, Vieira and Martinez quickly ruling themselves out and even the likes of an unemployed Sam Allardyce feeling unable to accept Ashley’s offer given the restrictions placed on transfers.

Losing Rafa Benitez was bad enough, but being rejected by Big Sam and settling for Steve Bruce just about sums up the uninspiring state of affairs at St James’ Park under Mike Ashley.

  1. Spot on – no self-respecting Manager would like to take the job on with one hand tied behind their back. Manager’s are judged by results and if others buy, sell and impose players on them, how can they or why should they be responsible for results. You said exactly what I was thinking about Kevin Nolan suddenly becoming pro-Ashley to further his own ambitions as Asst. Manager with Allardyce. We are destined for a sub-standard Manager i’m afraid, at least with Rafa we could attract top players.

  2. The unpredictable is now becoming predictable: second/third rate managers being touted. It is all going to bite Ashley on the ***. Unfortunately we have to suffer his idiotic stubbornness. Not a fit owner. Boycott.
