?️ Lee Charnley makes unbelievable claim after Steve Bruce is appointed at NUFC

Lee Charnley has broken his silence following Steve Bruce’s appointment at Newcastle United – and some of his comments are absolutely laughable.

As you’d expect, he glorifies Bruce’s arrival, saying how pleased he is that a coach of his ‘vast experience’ and ‘connections to the club and city’ has joined, but it gets much MUCH worse.

The club’s managing director then goes on to claim that we will be ‘fully prepared’ for the upcoming Premier League season. A laughable and shameless claim given the situation we’re currently in.

Here’s what he’s had to say during a statement on the club’s official site:

“Steve has a deep affection for Newcastle United and we are very pleased that a coach with his vast experience and connections to the club and city has joined us.

“Steve knows what this club means to supporters and to the region and he will put his heart and soul into leading our talented group of players with the full support of our staff.

“The hard work for Steve and his team starts immediately and we will be fully prepared for the challenge of a new Premier League season.

“I would place on record my thanks to Ben Dawson, Neil Redfearn and our medical and support staff for the way in which they have worked together to oversee the start of our pre-season preparations.”

‘Fully prepared’. Lee, let me point out a few facts.

We have just over 3 weeks left of the transfer window remaining, yet..

  • We have replaced a world class manager with a Championship one.
  • We’re the only Premier League side not to have signed a single player this summer.
  • We have not replaced Rondon or Perez – and it’ll cost £40-60m to do so properly given they scored over 50% of our goals last season.
  • We have several players who reportedly want out after Rafa’s exit.
  • We have just ONE senior striker at the club.
  • We are yet to sanction Isaac Hayden’s much needed exit and must then replace him.
  • We are yet to sign Mo Diame’s replacement.
  • We are yet to sign both a right-back and left-back – two areas that have been in desperate need of improvement for several years now.
  • We have several players deemed ‘not good enough’ by Rafa Benitez back in the fold (Colback, Aarons, Murphy, Lazaar).

‘Fully prepared’. I’ll believe it when I see it!

We are a team of second rate loan players who have returned to Newcastle

We have players with long faces trying to look happy and praying there agents can get them out of the club

And to round it off a owner who keeps moving the gaol posts regarding how much he wants for OUR club

  4. We cant blame Bruce for wanting to manage his boyhood club. Any of you who say you wouldn’t love the chance is feckin lying..
We can however lay all the blame at the feet of the boardroom mafia.
Ash and charnley have again conspired to belittle the name of nufc.
I’ve just watched the first painful half of this match and can already see relegation waiting for us with our championship badges.
Championship squad and manager together with an ambitious Sunday league owner is a disaster waiting to happen.
All loanees who have no future at the club and probably cant remember the last toon shirt they wore. We are in dire straits….
Think I’m gonna put all league 1 teams in a pot and pull 1 out.
