Hoffenheim respond to claims Joelinton is all set to join NUFC for £36m..

Hoffenheim have now all but confirmed reports that Joelinton will join Newcastle, stating he is now in ‘concrete negotiations’ with a ‘Premier League club’ and looks likely to leave.

This comes after German outlets Kicker and BILD claimed that his £36m move to Newcastle was now ‘imminent’, with Hoffenheim’s latest comment on social media explaining why he’s been withdrawn from their latest pre-season friendly today.

Here’s what they’ve said on Twitter in the last few moments after a Hoffenheim fan asked “Where is Joelinton” (with him absent from their line-up today):

“Joe is not there, he is in concrete negotiations with a Premier League club.

It may be that he leaves us.”

While they don’t confirm that he’s now gone and that a move is ‘imminent’ (as several German outlets are claiming), this does all but confirm that he’s now in talks with Newcastle and looks highly likely to complete a club record move to St James’ Park.

  2. Don’t be fooled in to buying season tickets because we might break our transfer record because if this lads any good he will be sold 2 years down the line for profit and we will be back to square one propping up the prem league if we survive this season which I highly doubt

  3. Perez out for 30 mill. Rondon could have cost 16.5 mill so 35 for Joelinton is not going to excite me. We still need at least one other striker. However I do think that Gayle is worth keeping. I believe he has the ability and has improved last season.
