Joelinton update arrives as Hoffenheim director speaks out about his move to NUFC

Hoffenheim’s director of football Alexander Rosen has confirmed that Joelinton’s move to Newcastle United has reached the “home stretch”, with it now suggested that the deal should be completed on Monday.

While there was no genuine reason to believe a move wouldn’t go through, there has been some Newcastle fans wondering what the delay was given several German outlets stated the move was ‘imminent’ and set to be announced on Thursday.

Since then, Hoffenheim’s new boss had all but confirmed he was leaving, but, with silence on the matter on Friday, Rosen’s new claims offer a reassuring and much-needed update for us NUFC fans.

Here’s what he’s had to say in the last few moments, insisting that fine details in contracts and ‘clearing processes’ take time:

We are on the home stretch, but not over the finish line.

There are things in contracts and clearing processes that take more than 24 hours.

The fee is not yet clear, with prices varying between £36m to £48m being reported by the media, however it does at least look like his move his edging closer and closer.

Fingers crossed!
