Worrying news as European giants plan move to sign Newcastle United star – Kicker

According to German outlet Kicker, PSG are now interested in signing Newcastle United stopper Martin Dubravka.

If you’re wondering why a potential move involving an English and French club is being covered in Germany, the deal has significance for Bundesliga side Frankfurt.

Frankfurt had PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp on loan last signing and are keen to re-sign him – and Kicker now claim that their hopes of getting him back have been boosted by news that PSG want to replace him with Martin Dubravka.

The Slovakian has been absolutely outstanding since arriving at the club last January, being arguably our most consistent player over the past 18 months, however it was reported just 10 days ago that he’s been left ‘unsettled’ by Rafa Benitez’s exit.

Let’s hope there’s nothing in this and that the 30-year-old is still a Newcastle United player come August 9th.

Considering we’ve lost Rafa, Rondon, Perez, Diame and Kenedy and signed just one player since, we can’t afford to lose a key first-team star in Martin Dubravka.
