According to the Daily Mail, Brighton are ‘close’ to sealing a £25m deal for Bristol City star Adam Webster – a move that could trigger a chain of events that includes a £6m exit for Ciaran Clark.
As the Mail’s North-East reporter Craig Hope reveals, Webster’s move looks set to create a domino effect of transfers that involves Bristol City, Brighton, Leicester, Man Utd and Newcastle.
He claims that Webster’s arrival at Brighton should allow Lewis Dunk to complete a £45m move to Leicester, with his signing then allowing the Foxes to sanction Harry Maguire’s big money move to Manchester United. And, as a result of Bristol City’s big loss at centre-back, it’s said they will make a move for top target Ciaran Clark – who’s been valued at around £6m.
In addition to this, the Chronicle confirmed this morning that Newcastle will sanction Ciaran Clark’s exit should they seal the signing of versatile PSG defender Stanley N’Soki.
The 20-year-old can play at left-back and at centre-back and is said to be discussing personal terms with the club as we speak after we agreed a £10m fee with PSG over the weekend.
The Sun reported last night that Clark was a target for Crystal Palace, however Bristol City may be best placed to meet our ‘£6-£7m’ asking price given they’re about to receive £25m for Webster.
