Bruce asks Mike Ashley to sanction deals for 5 NUFC stars – & expects ‘at least’ 3 new signings – Report

According to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, Steve Bruce wants to tie FIVE Newcastle United stars down to new contracts – and is expecting to see the club land ‘at least’ THREE new players over the next week.

With less than two years left on their current deals, Bruce wants ‘key players’ Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden and Matt Ritchie to be rewarded with new contracts, while he’s also planning to secure both Martin Dubravka and Sean Longstaff by offering them improved terms in a bid to keep them at the club.

Getting all five to put pen to paper would be a real boost given each and every one of them has been tipped to leave at some stage over the past few months, however it’s fair to say incomings are what we must be focusing on over the final 8 days of the summer transfer window.

Craig Hope insists that Bruce remains ‘hopeful’ that the club will complete the necessary deals between now and next week’s deadline on August 8th, but time really is running out now, with the window shutting a week today and our new league season kicking of next Sunday.

  1. We will not sign any players and we most certainly will not sign any of real worth or value.

  2. Has he been rubbing Aladdin’s lamp he will be lucky if fatty reply’s to his request he’s got no chance of getting anything

He must now be thinking like every other NUFC manager When’s this guy going to support me like he said at the interview

  3. I love the quietly confident part of Bruce statement regarding signings. Rafa was anything but quite he always gave it back in spares. Fair play to man wish him all the best. Bruce will be lucky to see November as nufc manager to be replaced by Martin O Neill.

  4. We have been after N’Soki for three windows now? We know that Maximin costs 22m Euros, so if there is 70 odd million to spend why **** about over the pennies? Get the players we have scouted for fucking years, you know what they cost by now, the rest of us sure do!
