NUFC set to sign Ludwig Francillette – & club ‘working on’ right-back deal – Report

According to Lee Ryder, Ludwig Francillette was the player spotted at St James’ Park yesterday – and the 20-year-old is now ‘close’ to signing for our U-23’s.

This comes after Mark Douglas confirmed earlier today that the player pictured on Tyneside Monday afternoon was a ‘U-23 addition’, and it’s now been revealed that the ‘mystery man’ is in fact French centre-back Francillette.

The piece also confirms that Newcastle are ‘working on a deal’ for an unnamed right-back.

Amiens’ Emila Krafth has been strongly linked and seems to be a definite option, however it’s been reported today that we’ve now ‘agreed a fee’ for Bordeaux right-back Youssouf Salably, so time will tell on that front.

So, it seems to me that a few U-23 additions – including Ludwig Francillette – plus the signing of a new right-back may be all we get between now and 5pm on Thursday.

A few fringe players look very likely to leave, with Lazaar, Saivet, Colback and Gayle potential candidates on that front, however it doesn’t seem like there’ll be many senior players through the door over the next 48 hours.

Regarding other U-23 arrivlas, French outlet RMC claim today that 18-year-old PSG talent Moussa Sissako is deciding between Newcastle and Brighton after both agreed deals and offered 4-year-deals.
