NUFC reporter reveals more about the ‘mystery man’ spotted signing at St James’ Park

Newcastle fans were sent into somewhat of a frenzy last night as pictures emerged of a mystery man holding up the Newcastle United shirt inside St James’ Park on Monday.

There’s been a LOT of guessing on social media as to who this player could be, however the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has now revealed that it’s a ‘Under-23 addition’:

It has been suggested that it could be 20-year-old French centre-back Ludwig Francilette. It is not yet known who it is, but we do know is that this is a U-23 signing – not a senior arrival who’s been brought in on the down low.

That said, we’ll be hoping we do see one or two first-team arrivals come in over the next 48 hours, with Thursday’s 5pm deadline fast approaching.

Our squad is well set in areas, but it’s widely accepted that we definitely need a new right-back, while some feel a midfielder and striker could arrive should the likes of Colback, Saivet, Hayden or Gayle complete last minute moves away.
