According to Sky Sports, Harry Wilson is now on his way to Bournemouth for a medical ahead of a season-long loan move from Liverpool.
Sky Sports confirmed our interest in the 22-year-old on several occasions this summer, however they revealed just a week ago (see below) that any move to St James’ Park was ‘unlikely’ as Jurgen Klopp did NOT want to loan him out again:
With this in mind, the fact Wilson is suddenly set to join Bournemouth on loan seems bizarre, and must be a bit of a kick in the teeth from a Newcastle United perspective.
Don’t get me wrong, I imagine our interest ended the moment we signed Allan Saint-Maximin, but it’s all a bit odd – especially when Wilson’s move to the south-coast includes no option to buy.
Either way, the ex-Derby star won’t be signing at St James’ Park this summer – not that Newcastle fans will be losing too much sleep about that for now given how good Saint-Maximin looked against St-Etienne over the weekend.
This feels to me that Klopp feels that we are building too strong a squad and also doesnt believe that Bournmouth pose so much more of a risk.
