Sky Sports – Two clubs in for Rolando Aarons after Bruce tells him he won’t be in 25-man squad

According to Sky Sports, both Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan are trying to sign Newcastle’s Rolando Aarons.

This comes from Keith Downie, who claims that the winger has now been told he is surplus to requirements and will not be included in the club’s 25-man squad:

Aarons actually spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and impressed at Hillsborough, so Owls fans will be excited to hear they’re back in for the winger.

That said, they’re also in talks to sign Jacob Murphy on loan by all accounts, so it may be a case of one or the other.

One thing this does suggest is that another winger is surely needed between now and 5pm tomorrow, with Murphy and Aarons now looking set to leave on loan.

Both have featured over pre-season, but only at wing-back, and the arrivals of Saint-Maximin, Willems and Krafth will have only pushed Aarons further down the pecking order.
