NUFC ‘injury doubt’ confirms he’s fit to face Watford after fears he’d miss out – Good news

Some good news for us Newcastle fans after a day of disappointing injury news, with Jetro Willems indicating that he’s now fit to face Watford.

The Dutchman was taken off with a hamstring injury late on in our Carabao Cup tie with Leicester on Wednesday night and was deemed a ‘doubt’ for Saturday, however he’s now declared on Instagram that he’s ‘ready’ for Watford.

Willems is yet to start a league game for the club, but with Ritchie now ruled out for 2 months, he’s now needed to fill the gap at left wing-back – so this is great news.

Here’s what he’s had to say in his latest post on social media after coming through Friday’s training session unscathed:

He made a costly mistake against Arsenal on the opening day, but he impressed me against Leicester in midweek, grabbing an assist, getting stuck in and get forward well with some good runs and dangerous crosses.

Let’s hope he can take his chance against Watford and prove to be a capable replacement for the injured Ritchie.
