Outstanding NUFC loanee named in “Team of the Month” after superb start to the season

Freddie Woodman’s loan stint with Swansea is going from strength to strength, with him now being included in WhoScored.com’s Championship ‘Team of the Month’.

The England U-21 is finally getting the regular game time at senior level he’s craved for several seasons now – and he’s reaping the rewards.

Not only is he getting crucial playing time in the second tier, his impressive display and clean sheet in their 0-1 win at Leeds last weekend has guided Swansea to the top of the league.

The 22-year-old has kept 3 clean sheets in his opening 6 games for the Swans, also preserving their unbeaten start by saving a penalty in their 0-0 draw at Derby.

As a result, his performances have seen him named in WhoScored.com’s Championship ‘Team of the Month’:

It was long overdue, but it’s good to see him finally excelling after being granted the loan move he needed, with him being the best goalkeeper in the Championship over the past month according to the stats.

He’s had spells in Scotland with Kilmarnock and Aberdeen and a loan spell in League Two with Crawley town, but regular games in a promotion chasing second tier side is where he needs to be as a highly-rated England U-21.

Keep it up, Freddie!
