Michael Owen reveals surprise stat during double prediction for Newcastle vs Bournemouth

Michael Owen has been giving his predictions for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, and he’s predicting a happy weekend for Newcastle United.

Surprisingly, he reveals that a usually free-scoring Bournemouth have scored just ONE goal in their last four and he’s backing that trend to continue on Saturday, predicting us to win and keep a clean sheet.

Here’s what he’s had to say for Bet Victor this week:

‘A fabulous result for Newcastle at the London Stadium at the weekend, and I believe the Magpies will follow up that success against a Bournemouth side who have only scored once in their last four games although that was enough to beat Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

‘It has taken a while for Steve Bruce to win over the Toon Army, but they are certainly enjoying their trips to the capital this term. United found the back of the net three times in the opening 45 minutes at West Ham on Saturday but one might be enough against the Cherries back at St James’ Park.’

Prediction: Newcastle United to win to nil.

If we could win this game, the mood around the club heading into the international break, and indeed the table would be much healthier than many could have possibly predicted a few week ago. Our front three showed real signs that they are gelling last week and can hopefully go into this game with a bit of confidence.

It’s also a big game for Jonjo Shelvey. He was superb in the London Stadium but it’s highly unlikely he’ll be allowed that kind of space by Bournemouth, who press fantastically well, although the fact they will be missing midfield enforcer Jefferson Lerma through suspension is a bonus.

As Owen points out Bournemouth have only 1 goal in 4 games, and many of their fans on social media have been discussing how they are better defensively this season, but haven’t quite clicked attacking wise yet. However, they are still a very good side, and are having another good season under the excellent Eddie Howe, A win against us could take them into 5th place.

Considering they only have 1 goal in 4 games, and we have the lowest goals for at home, but also the lowest conceded at home in the league, this is nailed on to be a high scoring thriller surely!
