According to reports in the Czech Republic, Newcastle are one of three Premier League sides tracking Spartak Moscow star Alex Kral.
The tenacious curly-haired Czech international, who has an uncanny resemblance to ex-Mag Fabricio Coloccini, is believed to have been watched by Newcastle scouts in Spartak’s 3-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow last weekend
Kral is a 21-year-old defensive midfielder who completed a £10m move from Slavia Prague over the summer, however it doesn’t sound like he’ll be sticking around in the Russian League for much longer.
His agent Karol Kisel has confirmed that he has admirers in England, with Sport.cz claiming that ourselves, Burnley and Norwich sent scouts to watch him in action on Saturday.
While we have a fair few midfield options, we’re yet to sign a tackling defensive midfielder following Mo Diame’s exit, meaning it would be no real surprise if we were tracking a talented young CDM like Kral.
