Is November The Month Where The Magpies Can Really Fly?

On the pitch Newcastle fans can breathe a little easier in recent weeks. Victory over Manchester United and Saturday’s win over West Ham have seen Steve Bruce’s men climb the table and find that little bit of confidence that can make all the difference.

And with the run that Newcastle have from now until Christmas, it’s the perfect time for them to have that confidence.

Fans will think it’s their lucky month. Get the lottery on, place a bet, play online bingo games, because a jackpot could be coming and Christmas may very well be early.

Fixtures against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Sheffield United and Southampton are all to come in the next four weeks, with Manchester City somewhere in between and Bruce will certainly be earmarking these fixtures to start to pull away from the drop zone.

They currently sit four points ahead of it and with Villa going on a bit of a bad run, taking three points is a must.

While 3-2, their win over West Ham was more comfortable than the scoreline suggested, and scoring three will certainly boost confidence. Goals are needed now and a lack of them has blighted the season so far at St James’ Park.

This time last season the club were on just six points and given the goings on at the club, it could be considered Bruce is doing a good job. The side haven’t lost at St James’ since their opening day defeat to Arsenal and there is still room for improvement.

Fans have yet to really take to Bruce, but that could all change over the coming weeks. A few good results and the club could start to fly up that table. They’re just three points from eighth place, and have the talent to certainly finish above the likes of Sheffield United, Brighton and Crystal Palace.

November is a month which could be crucial for the club, particularly as there are a number more crunch fixtures in December. Fans can feel they have a slice of luck in their run in to the new year, so taking advantage is a must. Can they? While that’s up to Bruce and his boys.

The manager will be desperate to take results though. He recently said he’d like the same adoration as Rafa received. If he can take a good amount of points in the coming weeks, he’ll go a long way into doing that.
