Aston Villa handed huge boost as 1 key player & 3 new signings are declared fit to face NUFC

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has confirmed that key man and club captain Jack Grealish will be fit to face Newcastle on Monday.

The playmaker has missed their last three games through injury – and they’ve lost all of them in his absence – however he’s trained over the international break and looks set to return to Smith’s starting 11.

There’s also good news elsewhere for Villa, with summer signings Tom Heaton, Bjorn Engels and Matt Targett all declared fit to return.

Grealish has created more chances than any other players outside the ‘big six’ far this season and has been sorely missed in recent weeks, while Heaton, Engels and Targett are all first-team regulars, having cost the club a combined £30m over the summer.

So, they’ll have their first choice no.10, no.1, centre-back and left-back fit for our trip to the Midlands on Monday, however there’s no doubt we come into the game the form side.

While Villa have lost all of their last three, slipping to 17th, we’ve picked up 7 points over that period, leaving us 4 points ahead of them in 13th.

Here’s hoping we extend that gap to 7 points on Monday!
