Sky Sports claim NUFC player is ‘set to start’ for the first time since September vs Man City

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie claims Emil Krafth is all set to start against Manchester City tomorrow following a hip injury to DeAndre Yedlin.

This would be the summer signing’s first start since that horrific 5-0 collapse at Leicester in September, with Yedlin having started every game since.

The American was poor in Monday night’s defeat at Villa, but it’s fair to say his pace could’ve been vital against City star Raheem Sterling – especially when you look at how much Emil Krafth struggled to contain Sadio Mane earlier in the season.

Manquillo seems to be the preferred option to replace Yedlin amongst most Newcastle fans on social media, but the fact he’s been left out of Bruce’s squad in recent weeks, it feels like the Swede will be handed a rare chance to impress.

Do you feel Krafth can redeem himself and do a job on Sterling in Yedlin’s absence, or would you be inclined to bring Manquillo back in at right wing-back?

Either way, it sounds like the Steve Bruce will give his new £5m the nod come 11.30am tomorrow!
