According to Sky Sports’ ‘power rankings’, Jonjo Shelvey is the 2nd most in-form player in the top flight as things stand.
The rankings focus on a range of key stats in Sky’s search for the league’s form players, and, according to their numbers, we have FIVE in the top 50.
Here’s Sky Sports’ latest rankings, with Jonjo Shelvey (2nd), Federico Fernandez (14th), Martin Dubravka (22nd), Allan Saint-Maximin (35th) and Jetro Willems (48th) making it in their latest ‘in-form chart’:
With another big goal over the weekend – his 4th in our last 6 games – it’s easy to see why Jonjo Shelvey is ranked so high.
Federico Fernandez has also risen up the rankings after backing up some superb defensive displays with he all important winner in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Southampton.
Martin Dubravka is also rightfully rated as the second most in-form goalkeeper in the top flight after making more crucial saves over the weekend, while Allan Saint-Maximin and Jetro Willems remain in the top 50.
The Dutchman had one of his poorest games in a black and white shirt on Sunday, while Saint-Maximin had a quiet afternoon by his standards, but both remain influential figures in this side, with the majority of our attacks coming down their side.
