NUFC ‘interested’ in signing Premier League playmaker – Palace & Spurs also keen – Report

According to the Guardian, Newcastle are showing interest in Burnley winger Dwight McNeil ahead of the January transfer window.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with the 20-year-old talent, with The Sun’s Alan Nixon reporting in July that we were eyeing a £15m move for the England U-21 international.

The Guardian claim that both ourselves, Crystal Palace and Tottenham are showing interest ahead of the January window.

They report that Burnley are ‘unlikely’ to let him leave this winter, however, with him currently the Clarets top creator this season on 4 assists.

He looks a real talent and one of the best crossers of a ball in the league from open play whenever I watch him in action for Burnley, but that will come at a price – and one I highly doubt we’d be willing to pay in the new year.

Nevertheless, it sounds like he’s a player we now have relatively long-standing interest in, meaning he could be one to watch in the transfer windows to come.
