Sky Sports claim NUFC ‘target’ is now being chased by Liverpool, Chelsea & Tottenham

In October, an ‘exclusive’ from The Chronicle revealed that Newcastle scouts were tracking Lille star Victor Osimhen.

Lee Ryder’s piece confirmed that NUFC officials were left very impressed by the 20-year-old, suggesting he was high up on the club’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

A few months on, our task to sign the highly-rated striker appears to have got considerably harder, with Sky Sports reporting that Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are now ‘monitoring’ the in-form Nigerian.

Osimhen – who’s valued at £27m according to transfermarkt – has already bagged 12 goals and 4 assists in all competitions this season.

He has 9 in 17 in Ligue 1 appearances this term, scored twice in Lille’s five Champions League group stage games and also bagged in their 3-0 win at Monaco in the French cup this week.

Sky Sports do report that he’s expected to stay at Lille until the end of the season, but it now looks like he’ll have bigger and better offers than a move to St James’ Park this summer.

Mike Ashley’s Newcastle United have often looked to sign exciting young talents from France, however it looks like we may have missed the boat with Osimhen if Liverpool, Chelsea or Spurs are serious about signing him!
