• The Mirror’s Simon Bird reports that Steve Bruce met Mike Ashley for ‘transfer talks’ in a Tyneside hotel today – and is asking the NUFC owner for ‘1 or 2’ game changing signings.
• According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Newcastle will make a £10m bid for Braga winger Ricardo Horta in ‘the coming days’.
• Lee Ryder has confirmed our interest in Nice star Wylan Cyprien, claiming we’ve been tracking the midfielder for ‘two years’.
• Sky Sports claim that Newcastle and RB Leipzig are continuing to hold talks over Ademola Lookman – but the Bundesliga side want at least £22m for the winger.

• Villarreal’s Karl Toko-Ekambi agent has offered the striker to Newcastle, according to reports in Spain – with the La Liga club willing to sell for £21m.
• The Sun’s Alan Nixon claims Newcastle are ‘still working’ on a deal for Strasbourg midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko.
• Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign AC Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS.
