Hull City receive bizarre offer for Jarrod Bowen – but NUFC yet to make their move – Report

According to the Sun’s Alan Nixon, Leeds United have made a bizarre offer for Newcastle target and Hull City star Jarrod Bowen.

That said, it doesn’t sound like an offer the Tigers are likely to accept, with Nixon claiming Leeds are willing to pay £3m to loan him for the rest of the season – and will pay a further £15m to sign him permanently if they earn promotion.

The report also states that Steve Bruce is very keen on the winger but is ‘yet to commit to a bid’, with Hull said to be demanding £20m for the Championship star.

It’s fair to assume Hull City won’t be accepting this offer, but the fact Leeds are now the latest club showing interest suggests we may not be able to just wait until the summer to snap him up.

We seem reluctant to pay the asking price for top Championship players, but Bowen with 16 goals and 6 assists this season, along with 22 goals during Hull’s 2018/19 campaign, Bowen looks too good for the second tier and capable of stepping up to the top flight.

With us needing a goal scorer this month, I’d far prefer to see us pay up for Bowen than look to loan and unproven and inexperienced talent from abroad, but time will tell if Mike Ashley really is happy to back Bruce after talks went ‘very well’ this week.

  1. How many times do we have to read that a player we are supposedly interested in is valued at a price the club won’t pay? Yet Fatty goes out and splashed £40 mil on a donkey.
