Sky Italy share Lazaro update after claims we’ve ‘agreed’ loan to buy with Inter Milan

Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio has shared an update on our pursuit of Valentino Lazaro after lunchtime claims that we’ve agreed a deal to sign the Inter Milan winger.

Tuttomercatoweb claim we’ve now agreed to a €2m loan deal (which includes an alleged €20m option to buy), and Sky Italy now report the 23-year-old’s agent is currently in England to discuss personal terms with Newcastle – suggesting an agreement is in place between the two clubs.

Here’s what Gianluca Dimarzio writes in his latest piece this afternoon:

After completing the Ashley Young deal with Manchester United, Inter are looking to make more moves for the wing-back position.

“On the outgoings front, Valentino Lazaro has become a target for Newcastle and the Austrian’s agent is in England to discuss term with the Magpies, after that the two clubs reached an agreement for a loan with option to buy.”

We’ll no doubt hear an update on Lazaro from reporters on Tyneside over the coming hours, but the noises coming from Italy suggest the Austrian could be on his way to St James’ Park!

Fingers crossed, as he could be an exciting and versatile addition, giving us another good attacking option down our right hand side.

  1. €2m to loan the lad is good business imo. He can play RWB and RW – and RW is where we are struggling.
If he comes good then €20m is a decent fee – if not we look at Lookman or Bowen again – if we can get that done in Jan.
