Newcastle United have received TWO bits of good news in their bid to sign Jarrod Bowen, according to the Daily Mail.
Firstly, they report Steve Bruce’s “long term associate”, Peter Chapman, is now in control of any talks surrounding the Hull City star’s future – giving Newcastle fresh hope of striking a deal.
Secondly, the Mail also claim that Bowen is now “desperate” to leave Hull this month.
The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards announced last Friday that we’ll finally submit a bid to test Hull’s resilience, with the Tigers reluctant to sell while their promotion hopes remain alive.
That said, a 1-0 defeat at Derby over the weekend has left them 13 points behind the automatic promotion places and 6 away from the play-offs down in 12th.
Nabil Bentaleb looks set to sign on loan and Inter Milan wing-back Valentino Lazaro could soon join him, but the signing of a player who’s scored 39 goals in English football over the past 18 months could be the one we really need right now.
Hopefully this ‘imminent’ bid does arrive and it’s enough to tempt Hull into selling!
Beware – 39 goals in the Championship is great but how many did the ‘prolific’ Gayle score last year in that league and when he played for us? Before he became injured Dwight looked second rate.

That’s a fair point.
Mind you, Bowen plays out wide in a poor Hull side who are often mid table.
Gayle played as a central striker in two top Championship sides.

So basically you can tell us you think Bowen has a good chance of joining Newcastle because Steve Bruce’s friend works there and Bowen is keen to join us. So you say??
Nabil Bentalab is joining us but I didn’t hear any rumours or speculation about this one yet he is in Newcastle for a medical??
2+2 doesn’t always make 4, make it up as you go along.
