Alan Shearer accuses Callum Wilson of cheating & slates NUFC after “dreadful” Fulham display

After yet another abject performance against the mighty Fulham, a display of anger was quite rightly poured on Steve Bruce and his not so merry men.

Social Media was alive with disgruntle, dismayed, disappointed dejected Toon Fans who delivered yet another damning verdict of this dreadful football and application we are showing…EVEN against a newly promoted side with 10 men!

The legend that is Alan Shearer delivered yet another scathing assessment of “dreadful” Newcastle on Match of the Day, feeling familiar problems undermined us once again and that Callum Wilson dived to win us a penalty:

“I thought it was a dreadful performance from Newcastle.

“No energy. Slow and sluggish in their passing, they didn’t create anywhere near enough,”

“And again – which has happened far too many times this season – not enough possession.

“They didn’t have the ball enough.”

On the subject of possession, it’s quite alarming that we spent a third of the game with one extra man yet still had less than 50% of the ball – something we’ve done in EVERY game so far this season!

Shearer also agreed with fellow pundit and ex-NUFC colleague Jermaine Jenas’ assessment of the penalty incident that got The Toon there point, feeling the striker dived to win a second-half spot kick:

“I don’t think it should have been a penalty.”

“That is a dive.

Yes, there is a tiny touch there but it is not enough to bring him down.

“It should have been a foul outside of the box because he has got hold of his shirt and I thought that was a dive.”

We got away it yesterday in more way than one, but you could say the Wilson incident that won us a penalty and lost them a man makes up for the big one VAR missed at Leeds in midweek?

  1. Wilson is the reason we aren’t in the bottom three but that dive was a disgrace and how he had the nerve to go in front of the cameras afterwards shows he is the epitome of the modern day professional footballer. He should be vilified not praised for his actions the bloke is quite simply scum.
