Today’s NUFC related transfer talk:

  • NUFC are believed to be leading the chase for Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs, but won’t meet the £15M fee the Gunners are demanding (Football London)
  • Napoli have joined the race for Aleksandar Mitrovic and hope to seal a €10m deal for the Serbian. NUFC will not let him go for anything short of £13m however. (Northern Echo)
  • Manchester City have slapped a £12m price tag on Fabian Delph, with Newcastle set to reignite their interest in the England midfielder (The Chronicle)

Other news

  • NUFC duo Freddie Woodman & Adam Armstrong are heading into the U-20 World Cup final after England beat Italy 3-1 in today’s semi-final.
  • A Petition has been created asking Newcastle United to retire the number 24 shirt in honour of Cheick Tiote.
  • USA manager Bruce Arena believes DeAndre Yedlin has became a better player a year on from his move to Newcastle United, claiming he has improved mentally and doesn’t purely rely on his pace as much (Washington Post)
