Former Mag Jack Colback has completed a permanent move to Nottingham Forest in the last few moments.
The midfielder was released by Newcastle in June, with the club deciding against extending his contract after he failed to be included in Steve Bruce’s squad for the entire 2019/20 season.
The 30-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at the City Ground across 2018/19 and is believed to have been living in Nottingham with his partner ever since, with Jonjo Shelvey revealing earlier this summer that he’d been travelling up to Tyneside each day to take part in training sessions.
Here’s the statement released on Forest’s official website in the last few moments:
Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce that midfielder Jack Colback has signed a permanent contract with the club.
The former Sunderland and Newcastle man made over 200 appearances in the North East regularly featuring in the Premier League before enjoying two successful loan spells at The City Ground where he made over 50 appearances in the Garibaldi.
A decent move for Colback and one that will have gone down well in the Midlands based on his impressive spell at the club a few years ago.
Good to get the best part of £50,000 per-week off the wage bill and finally see him move on after being paid a fortune each month to do nothing other than train!
All the best, Jack!
