Game on! Blackburn v Newcastle.

Howay the lads!
It’s matchday again, and you can talk about it all here as Newcastle travel to Blackburn for a regulation 3pm, Saturday kick-off.

Nearly 5,000 Newcastle fans will be inside Ewood Park today, which is fantastic of course, but for those that are not fortunate enough to be there this afternoon you can do the next best thing which is, of course, talk about the match with us here on NUFCblog.info.

I very much doubt that we can expect anything as dramatic as last weekend’s match against Arsenal, and to be honest that’s a good thing as I don’t think that my heart, head or sanity could take another game like that. A nice 1-0 win will do me just fine thank-you very much 😉

A quick look at the streams on MyP2P doesn’t fill me with much hope of being able to catch the match, ut you never know and perhaps one of them could at least work. The quality of streams has been rubbish for a few weeks now though, which isn’t good.

For those that haven’t already done so, or for those who wish to do so again, you can check out my match preview and mull over some stats and facts as well as debating the likely team selection for either side by clicking here.

That’s about it for the minute. Hopefully the boys in black and white can end the Blackburn curse and pick up another point, or three!

Howay the lads!

  1. That Barton yellow was pathetic. What is he supposed to do there, I cant believe that was given.

We were excellent today, lads should be bemused that we’ve only came away with a point, i know i am like. Played some lovely free flowing football and ran them ragged for the best part of 90 minutes.

  2. Fckin refs are ridiculous, that has to be rescinded or challenged, absolute bullsh1t card on Barton.

Funny how as soon as blackburn get pressured they just long ball everything, steve kean has changed **** all, they were lucky to hold the draw…and we should have had ranger on earlier, loven was pretty average.

  3. ILM-You can’t help but wonder when it comes to our front line, can you. All those balls being whipped into the box…

It’s our own fault though. Or it’s the clubs fault, not ours. We should have had a replacement lined up as I think everyone was well aware that although we had plenty of strikers, only one of them was scoring regularly. Take Shola out of the equation and look at a big physical team such as BBurn with the likes of Samba at the back and you need a big CF who’s top notch in the air.

  4. We need to start blasting the ball across goal as well now, specially when its enrique or simpson at the byline…may as well blast it and hope for a touch rather than constantly going high and constantly losing.

  5. Newkie, to be fair Jose’s first ball was whipped across the face but there was nee one there to get a foot onto it. The one he played really flat where Loven cut across his man to the front post probably should have found the net aswell.

We played some top notch passing football, ran them ragged..but when you havent got anyone to finish the moves off, it gets worrying.

i’m f’kin squirming here like, scum – 2 points, Spurs – 2 points, and now today that’s another 2 points we’ve missed out on. Blackburn were awful and I don’t think you’re going to see a better opportunity to get 3 points away from home.

But yeah, for me, defence was good today, not too many problems. Our midfield was quality and we ripped them apart down the left. I think Simpson could do the same on the right if only he had someone to work and cover him like Enrique does on the left.

It’s up front where we’ve lost points today, the stats say it all, we’ve done everything but put it in the net. Gutted!

Going to the gym to let off some steam! 😕

  7. True Ross…there are a lot of positives to take from the performance its just so massively frustrating after outclassing them for all but maybe the last 5 mins we couldn’t make it count..maybe we should just start playing Colo as CF when Staylor is fit :D? His shot had plenty of power. If he’d hit it just anywhere else it woulda been in 🙁

  8. If we can’t win our game in hand,is gonna be a tough ride for the remaining 8points+ or so. 🙄

  9. AoD-

Divvent worry mate. We drew against Arsenal. After scoring 4 goals. Sure it’s a draw, but I’ll take it! And today, blahh, we shoulda had a point, but we dont’ have any good strikers. Best is so on-again-off-again it’s ridiculous, Lovenpants is just that- pants, Ranger can’t hit the box, Shola is out, and the Cookie Monster has a cool name but that’s about it. I wouldn’t expect many goals like

  10. I think people are getting a bit silly. It’s an away point, which most would have taken from the get go.

Don’t take your eyes off the prize. Look at our next 5 games

    Birmingham v Newcastle
    Newcastle v Bolton
    Newcastle v Everton
    Stoke v Newcastle
    Newcastle v Wolverhampton

Win those three home games and we’re safe on 41 points.
