Game on! Blackburn v Newcastle.

Howay the lads!
It’s matchday again, and you can talk about it all here as Newcastle travel to Blackburn for a regulation 3pm, Saturday kick-off.

Nearly 5,000 Newcastle fans will be inside Ewood Park today, which is fantastic of course, but for those that are not fortunate enough to be there this afternoon you can do the next best thing which is, of course, talk about the match with us here on NUFCblog.info.

I very much doubt that we can expect anything as dramatic as last weekend’s match against Arsenal, and to be honest that’s a good thing as I don’t think that my heart, head or sanity could take another game like that. A nice 1-0 win will do me just fine thank-you very much 😉

A quick look at the streams on MyP2P doesn’t fill me with much hope of being able to catch the match, ut you never know and perhaps one of them could at least work. The quality of streams has been rubbish for a few weeks now though, which isn’t good.

For those that haven’t already done so, or for those who wish to do so again, you can check out my match preview and mull over some stats and facts as well as debating the likely team selection for either side by clicking here.

That’s about it for the minute. Hopefully the boys in black and white can end the Blackburn curse and pick up another point, or three!

Howay the lads!

  1. I know what you mean toonsy….we’ve been so much on top the second half…. but haven’t managed to convert the pressure…

  2. Toonsy,

The only reason Jonas is double marked is because opposition teams know he can’t find a team mate with a pass or cross so they leave them open to get the ball of Jonas knowing he can only dribble.

    He’s highly overated IMO.

  3. ILM-He’s linking up with Jose excellently as per, I just think he’s been wasteful at times. I’d also like to see more of a threat in the box because Jose is whipping the ball in there at will.

Wasteful with that effort there too, should be hitting the target.

Unlucky for Best, we’ve been fantastic today.

  4. I suppose at the end of the day we have lacked quality up front. We’ve had some really great chances.

  5. Thats your opinion JJ. I happen to think Jonas is unfairly targetted.

I mean is part of our strongest attacking flank, yet apparently he is ****? Summit don’t make sense there like……

  6. Still think Jonas would be better left side of a 3 man midfield with a more defensive role. Then his forward play becomes a bonus rather than his reason d’etre

  7. Toonsy…..my point with Jonas is that his end ball is ****, 5 out of 6 of his final passes are poor. It’s frustrating. Defensively he does an ok job, but to be honest even with Jose behind him he cannot manage it…

  8. Villa down to ten men at Blackpool.

Munich – Is Jonas a world beater? No. Do we have anyone better other than shoving a striker out there? At the minute, no. This makes playing Jonas a no-brainer IMO.

  9. Toonsy…I really like Jonas, and I would play him every time. But his final ball has been **** today, and he cannot shoot to save his life, even though he has the benefit of being able to cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

    Fook Ranger looks good !!

  10. Munich – It would be nice to actually see Jonas on the right – his favoured position and the one he was signed to play in. He’d be on his stronger foot as well then.

  12. Well id have taken that before the match but we should have put them away.

  13. Just highlights the need to strengthen to squad in the summer. We need two strikers, at least one of them being CLASS. We need a proper right winger, and some cover for Tiote (who I really hope we can manage to hang on to…)

  14. f’kin gutted, don’t think we’ll get a better oportunity to get 3 points away from home.

Quality of our front line the main reason we didn’t win that match?

Guess that’s why they cost all the money
