Game on! Newcastle v Bolton.

Will it be home comforts this time around?

It’s game on again as Newcastle host Bolton Wanderers at St James’ Park in what could be a tricky encounter against the in form Trotters.

Not only do we have the fine form of our opponents to deal with, but we also have this Saturday, 3pm kick-off hoodoo to contend with. As I pointed out in my match preview, it’s been two and a half years since Nufc last mustered a home Premier League win when the kick-off has been at 3pm on a Saturday.

Still, hopefully that will change this afternoon, and if it does it will mean that we leapfrog Bolton and climb into seventh place in the Premier League table. if you’d have told me at the start of the season that we would be seventh in the league with only ten games left I would have probably punched you in the face in some vain attempt to try and knock some sense into you!

However, here we are, and with the feel good factor that has been manufactured by the result against Birmingham and perpetuated by the announcements of new long-term contracts for Cheik Tiote and John Carver you would have to hope that we can use that momentum and gain a positive result. Mind you, this is Newcastle United and we could just as easily receive a kick in the nuts as punishment for our enthusiasm.

I’m lucky enough to be at the match so I won’t actually need a stream for once, which means that you won’t have to put up with me moaning about how I can’t get a stream to work. However, for those who do need one, if you find a good one then please feel free to leave a link to it in the comments section below.

That’s just about it really, and all that is left to say is that I hope you enjoy the match. I’m in Newcastle overnight so the team news will be supplied by Big Dave, and I will leave you in the capable hands of MarkToon and Moreno for the duration of my absence.

Howay the lads!

  1. Ice-haha, it was a group decision (that I wasn’t involved in obviously like) to top the night off after 5under1and. Sadly that didn’t prevent me from leaving with a dent in the wallet.

  2. Seriously, I dunno how Lovenkrands didnt score, you’ll see on motd tonight – jose puts a class ball in, all he had to do was make contact.

  3. I agree that we shouldn’t blame the ref, but he was **** and gave us nothing all game. We had the chances to win it and on another day we would have. We paid the price for pissing around with the ball at the back so can have no complaints.

Must say that I thought pardew made the right calls today with the subs and making sure that we didn’t lose.

  4. Toonsy I just feel that Pards has made us a harder team to beat, and we seem to have more belief in ourselfs.
Even when our backs are against the wall we can still hold on which imo we wern’t able to do before 😉
